Tanneron, the most flowery village of the Pays de Fayence
Tanneron is one of the 9 perched villages of the Pays de Fayence. Its hills are invaded by the mimosa (cultivated or wild), it is moreover the commune of the Var which concentrates the most mimosa. Some "mimosist" horticulturists offer visits to their farms from December to March to discover the forcing mills.
DID YOU KNOW THAT ? The 4-season mimosa (acacia retinodes) is one of the most resistant to cold (-9°C to -10°C). Its flowering extends over the spring-summer period. The last producer of this mimosa of the 4 seasons is in Tanneron: Monsieur Blanc.
The mimosa road...
Today over 130 km, the Route du Mimosa stretches from Bormes-Les-Mimosas to Grasse. This tourist route, recommended from January to March, is typically the symbol of a winter Côte d'Azur which offers, under a mild climate, a sort of itinerant holiday resort between azure blue and sunny yellow .

Every year, all along the Mimosa Route, animations are organized. The Mimosa Festival of Tanneron is one of them. Among the activities on offer, there are masses in Provencal, folk dances, Provencal markets and crafts, corsos flowers, visits to mimosa farms or carnivals for children.
