A walk in the Fondurane biotope
Do you dream of peace, tranquility and you want to escape from your daily life? What could be better than a walk in a protected natural reserve where fauna and flora are the masters of the place? Take a break in the calm in the countryside in this unique place in the Pays de Fayence!
A natural paradise for local fauna and flora
The reserve shelters a multitude of birds, frogs, turtoises but also ancestral oaks... Trade your mobiles for binoculars for a moment and let yourself be amazed by nature!
The reserve allows you to stroll along marked trails, in a 43 ha natural area, protected since 1988, in the western part of the lake of Saint-Cassien. An observatory allows you to discover the animal and plant species of the site in complete tranquillity. A real enrichment for the whole family! 175 bird species have been recorded and it is possible to observe some of the most threatened species such as the mallard, teal, grey heron, rmarsh harrier...
A reserve to discover in many ways
Whether on foot with a naturalist guide specialising in local fauna and flora, or on horseback, you can discover the reserve in several ways! You can access it by your own means and walk around the site in total autonomy.
Discovery with a naturalist guide
To make sure that this protected area is no longer a secret to you, book an outing with Marjorie Ughetto, a local naturalist guide. She will help you to discover the area by explaining the particularities of the surrounding fauna and flora. We don't know more about nature than she does! An outing that is highly recommended to make you aware of the nature around you.
Book nowBaladazur : the discovery application of the biotope
For the most technophiles of the family, you can download before leaving the "Baladazur" application that will accompany you during your discovery in the form of a digital path! Remember to download the application before your output and provide headphones to hear the explanations given and indicated at each terminal.
A horse ride with the Poun's
To enjoy this bucolic charm on 4 hooves, grab the reins of your horse and ride along the paths of the reserve during a walk of about an hour. Accessible to all, this high ground will allow you to enjoy even more serenely a magnificent view of the lake of Saint-Cassien as well as the hilltop villages of the Haut Var.
A sensitive natural area to be preserved
Do not forget that the reserve, by the diversity of its fauna and flora, is a very sensitive area that we must preserve. To do this, adopt the right actions!
- Stay on the marked paths so as not to weaken the surrounding flower beds: they shelter many insects and wild flowers
- Bring a garbage bag to bring back your rubbish. Do a good deed by picking up those you might see on the spot!
- Do not disturb the wildlife: be quiet and do not try to approach animals or insects
- Don't pick the flowers: many are protected, take a photo instead or a drawing so that it can charm others after you
