Frejus is located halfway between Cannes and Saint-Tropez, at the heart of Côte d'Azur. The city is built on a sandstone buttress of the Esterel mountains, overlooking the Argens and Reyran valleys. It has the appearance of a small Provencal town, whose new districts extend to the sea.
The City was first called "Forum Julii". It was born by the will of the first Caesar. Quickly, under the reign of Augustus, the sailors and Roman soldiers were seduced by the wealth and beauty of the country. They settled there, became peasants, grew vines, olive trees and fruit trees. They created for our greatest happiness, one of the masterpieces of nature: Provence.

The chapel Notre-Dame-de-Jerusalem, also called "chapel Cocteau", was built in 1965 under the command of Jean Martinon. To beautify it, they asked renowned artists like the painters Jean Cocteau and Raymond Moretti, the architect Jean Triquenot or the ceramist Roger Pelissier.

Fréjus beach begins at the bottom of the Pedégal bridge and extends over more than 1 km to Frejus harbor. This large beach, reserved for swimming and tanning, is perfect for families, but also to admire the fireworks during summer. On summer evenings, under the cool plane trees, a craft market animates the "Promenade" along the beach.
