Fréjus
Frejus is located halfway between Cannes and Saint-Tropez, at the heart of Côte d'Azur. The city is built on a sandstone buttress of the Esterel mountains, overlooking the Argens and Reyran valleys. It has the appearance of a small Provencal town, whose new districts extend to the sea.
From Forum Julii to Fréjus, 2000 years of history...
The City was first called "Forum Julii". It was born by the will of the first Caesar. Quickly, under the reign of Augustus, the sailors and Roman soldiers were seduced by the wealth and beauty of the country. They settled there, became peasants, grew vines, olive trees and fruit trees. They created for our greatest happiness, one of the masterpieces of nature: Provence.
From these distant Latin ancestors, the Provencals inherited one of the rarest qualities, the love of beauty. In Fréjus, driven by this love, each generation has contributed its works and monuments, while preserving the heritage of its ancestors. Thanks to this harmonious development, Fréjus offers you today the testimony of twenty centuries of beauty.
