L’ensemble New Folk revisite ses chants populaires à travers une création vivante et contemporaine, portée par des éléments sonores variés.
Une production «Cie.Risonanze» avec le soutien de : DRAC-PACA, Region-Sud, Ville de Marseille, «Résident Kultur Ensemble» Institut Français d’Italie et Goethe Institut Palerme.
Rosa, la voix d’un peuple, est un portrait sonore en forme de «Hörspiel* mis en scène», qui rend hommage à la femme et artiste folk sicilienne Rosa Balistreri (1927-1990), qui a chanté la vie de sa terre, la Sicile, et dont la voix a été porteuse d’une culture ancestrale : « son chant était beauté d’ancienne tradition, la voix d’un peuple... » (Paolo Emilio Carapezza, musicologue).
L’ensemble New Folk crée une musique vivante et contemporaine fondée sur des racines traditionnelles. À travers l’analyse des chants et des mélodies populaires, New Folk s’identifie avec cette matrice vocale comme identité culturelle.
