L’année 2025 a été proclamée « Année de la Mer » par l’Organisation des Nations Unies (ONU), mettant en lumière l’importance cruciale des océans pour notre planète. Cette initiative vise à sensibiliser le public, promouvoir leur protection et encourager des actions concrètes face aux défis environnementaux qui les menacent.
Dans ce cadre, le Service Mer Littoral Nautisme organise une grande opération de nettoyage des ports, à la fois en mer et à terre. L’intervention sous-marine, supervisée par la Régie des Ports, sera menée en partenariat avec deux clubs de plongée, Le Club Sous l’Eau et Aventure Sous-Marine, qui s’engagent bénévolement dans cette action. Parallèlement, les zones terrestres autour du port feront également l’objet d’un nettoyage, avec la participation du grand public et des associations environnementales locales.
Un village associatif sera installé afin de sensibiliser le public aux enjeux environnementaux et à la préservation du milieu marin. Plusieurs acteurs engagés tiendront un stand pour présenter leurs actions : La SNSM (Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer), Surfrider – Antenne Var, Planète Action, ADEE, Alternatiba, Pizzorno Environnement, Le SMIDDEV.
Enfin, une fresque des déchets sera réalisée à partir des objets collectés. Cette œuvre artistique, imaginée et créée par La Tribu des Arts, donnera une seconde vie aux déchets en les transformant.
