There were no fountains in the Middle Ages, just a public well and a few private ones. The old fountain was built in 1774. Water from the Sources des Cavalières springs was supplied to the village via an aqueduct with 25 bridges.
Nowadays, a waymarked botanical trail leads to the aqueduct from the chapel of Sainte-Anne. The botanical trail, known as the “sentier des 25 ponts” (trail of 25 bridges) is a walk of about an hour that takes you on to the Saint-Désert monastery where you’ll see a 17th-century chapel. Besides the 18th-century aqueduct which offers beautiful views over the village of Roquebrune and the Rock, this trail takes you discovering some gems of the Mediterranean flora.
